Our Advisory Board

The advisory board consists of nine local marketing and sales professionals from Southwest Montana. Among the responsibilities as members of the Advisory Board, the professionals will, when possible, help the executive board set the agenda for the upcoming academic year, advise on vision, themes, and goals for the year ahead, present at AMA events, provide tours of their facilities and offices, assist in networking, and provide job coaching, resume reviews, soft skills coaching and interview preparation support as needed.

 

 

TARA PETRE

Strategist

Tara Petre is the Strategist and Account Management Team Lead for Elixiter, in Bozeman, Montana. Elixiter is an agency that provides strategic planning, technical delivery, and measured business intelligence in Marketo and supporting Martech platforms. As a Strategist, Tara works with all of Elixiter’s clients to implement a plan unique to each client’s needs and works with Elixiter experts to ensure each client’s goals are understood across the organization. As the Account Management Team Lead, she works with her team of Account Managers to ensure they are trained an enabled to build successful partnerships with Elixiter’s clients and set a long-term vision for each account.

Tara joined Elixiter in 2013, with experience in PR and Digital Marketing. She graduated from Montana State university with a B.S. in Business with options in both Marketing and Management as well as a minor in entrepreneurship and small business management.

ADAM WRIGHT

Director of Business Development

Adam Wright is the Director of Business Development at PFL, in Livingston, Montana. He has been a member of the AMA Advisory Board since March 2018. Bridging the gap between sales and marketing has been Adam’s forte and interest for over a decade. He has worked in both roles, owned his own business and worked at every stage of the sales process to create happy customers. He enjoys sharing his sales knowledge and skills, when he’s not snowboarding or fishing.

West Paw

A strategic and innovative marketing leader known for collaborative management style, strategic insight, creative solutions, and a collaborative management style, Cary Kessenich is the Director of Marketing and Customer Experience at West Paw, a small pet product company in Bozeman, Montana. Cary’s career spans over 20 years in marketing and brand management roles at Target, Banana Republic, and Shutterfly. Cary’s passion for building brands has served her well in her current role at where she leads revenue-driving brand initiatives and marketing programs. Her depth of experience has taught Cary how to successfully bring products to market and implement corporate strategy.

Founder/President

Megan Armstrong Wold is founder and president of Armstrong Marketing Solutions in Bozeman, Montana. Megan moved from Virginia to Montana in 2005 and graduated from Montana State University’s College of Business with a degree in marketing in 2007. In 2012, she founded AMS, a branding and marketing agency serving businesses throughout the state. AMS helps businesses define and differentiate themselves so they can better connect with their existing and potential customers in authentic ways. AMS is committed to helping members of the business community by promoting business growth, providing business resources and coaching start-ups. In addition to the Montana State University chapter of the American Marketing Association Megan sits on the Montana Women’s Business Center Board for Prospera.

LAUREN CASELLI

Director of Events

Lauren Caselli is the owner of Lauren Caselli Events, a strategic event planning and marketing firm that helps high six, seven, and eight figure businesses create memorable, in-person experiences that build relationships between attendees and hosts, and creates community through high-impact, customer-centered interactions. With over 10 years of experience in the strategic event planning and marketing industry, Lauren and her team work with eCommerce, tech, and corporate clients all over the world (locations we’ve worked recently include the Bay Area, Los Angeles, Michigan, New York, New Orleans, Spain, London, and Singapore, to name few).

JAKI WELCH

Account Executive

ABC FOX Montana

Jaki Welch has been in broadcast marketing for over 20 years. She completed her education at Montana State University in Fine Arts and uses her creative skills to develop unique, customized marketing opportunities for local and regional organizations. Recognized by the Montana Broadcasters Association as one of Montana’s top sellers and an 18-year member of the Jim Manning Society, she understands that honest relationships foster success in any industry and pushes her clients to never over promise and always over deliver. Jaki and her husband Randy enjoy being active outdoors and spending time with their 6 children and 3 grandchildren.

STEVE CANNON

Steve is an expert regarding digital business development. He previously served as VP of Sales and Business Development at Schedulicity and was co-founder of OPSTEC (acquired by Skywire). Steve has a data-rich career that spans Saas, e-commerce, digital customer acquisition, conversion rate optimization and he takes great satisfaction in achieving client growth goals through measurement, execution, and mentoring. Steve attended McNeese State University after serving in the US Air Force and holds multiple certifications from Google and Conversion XL Institute.

EJ PORTH

Communications & Outreach Director

EJ joined the Gallatin Valley Land Trust as the Communications and Outreach Manager in the spring of 2014. She spent her previous 5 years in Bozeman as the Development Coordinator for HAVEN and Marketing Director at Buffalo Restoration. EJ also works part time with local high school students through the Bozeman Youth Initiative. She moved to Montana from Chicago where she attended Northwestern University and received a B.A. in Sociology and Business. In Chicago she held internships with nonprofits in public relations, volunteer management, and event planning. She specializes in nonprofit marketing activities such as social media, ad campaigns, website development, branding, publications and public relations.

SETH NEILSON

Founder and Principal

WASA Industries

Seth Neilson is the founder and principal of WASA Industries, a creative services studio with more than 20 years of experience in creative direction, graphic design, branding, illustration, and photography. Seth has worked with a wide range of clients, including Converse, Microsoft, Vasque, Patagonia, Nike, and the Montana Office of Tourism, among others. Outside of the studio, his family and outdoor hobbies keep him running around the hills and mountains of Bozeman taking photos and thinking up new additions to his My Outdoor Alphabet series of screen printed posters.
