MSU’s American Marketing Association Heads to New Orleans to Compete atInternational Collegiate Conference

Eight-year old student chapter to participate in sixteen competitions at the AMA International

Collegiate Conference in New Orleans.

Bozeman, Mont. - April 4, 2024 - Montana State’s student chapter of American Marketing

Association (AMA) has entered in sixteen competitions at the International Collegiate

Conference (ICC) eight of these competitions have been previously completed and the winners

will be announced. This competition is taking place April 11-13 in New Orleans, Louisiana. This

year they look to build upon their already impressive track record and hope to earn a top 10-

chapter designation for the fifth year in a row.

“I am so proud of our chapter’s in preparing for ICC this year,” says Emilie Rupprecht, the

chapter President and a senior in business marketing and management from Rochester, Minn.,

and “We’ll be taking a record number of students, so I am excited to see how well we perform in

New Orleans.”

There will be 25 students representing the Montana State chapter of AMA at ICC this year

competing, these seven competitions will take place at ICC:

  • Case Competition: Emilie Rupprecht of Rochester, Minn., Isabella Caputo of Bakersfield,

    Calif., Quinn Barbisan of Bozeman, Taylor Jones of Erie, Colo., and Annika Danenhauer

    of Bozeman.

  • Design Lab Competition: Aleisha Dutton of Billings, Jackson Redder, Spokane, Wash.,

    Deanna Dalton of Billings, and Jovany Castillo of Dillion.

  • T-shirt Competition/ Instagram Highlight Reel: Radley Robertson of Hamilton, Castillo.

  • Perfect Pitch Competition: Molly Claussen of Ham Lake, Minn., Jasmine Schroeder of

    Tigard, Ore., and Roberston.

  • Marketplace Simulation Competition: Eve Broeker of Minneapolis, Minn., Jack Hays of

    Arvada, Colo., Amber Kurth of Orland, Calif., Kylie Smith of Spokane, Wash., and

    Sydney Mcginn of Inver Grove Heights, Minn.

  • Marketing Strategy Competition: Bella Pich of Minneapolis, Minn., and Monica

    MacPherson of Monroe, Wash.

  • Sales Competition: Andrew Verenski, Kenosha, Wis., Shawn Huseby Florence, and Ian

    De Faria, Boulder, Colo.

These following competitions have already been submitted for review and the winners for each

will be announced at the ICC Competition:

  • Student Marketer of the Year: Rupprecht

  • Social Impact Scholar: Eve Broeker of Minneapolis, Minn.

  • Diversity Scholar: Castillo

  • EBSCO Scholar: Dutton

  • Undergraduate Student Research: Taylor Jones of Erie, Colo., Research project conducted

    on political polarization in celebrities.

  • Best Recruitment Video: Castillo, Rupprecht, Ian Defaria of Boulder, Colo., Dalton,

    Redder, Dalton

  • Best Social Impact Video: Castillo

  • Best Marketing Week: Smith, Barbisan, and Dalton

  • Chapter of the Year: Top 10 designation we hope to retain out more than 300

    student chapters worldwide

“The AMA International Collegiate Conference provides the opportunity not just to compete in

these areas, but presents students with countless learning, development, and networking

opportunities to help them in their marketing careers” said Dr. Eric Van Steenburg, associate

professor of Marketing at MSU and the chapter’s faculty advisor. “It also furthers the chapter’s

mission to prepare students for their professional careers.”

The American Marketing Association at Montana State is MSU’s student chapter of the AMA.
